Change.org Announces Winners from Hackathon

Change.org hosted their first ever "Hack for Change" competition last month with 50 engineers and designers competing for $10,000 in seed funding for their social good apps.

Contestants of the hackathon were given 24 hours to build a social good app and founder of Craigslist.org, Craig Newmark, worked with a panel of judges to award three finalists $10,000 in seed funding.

The top prize went to Brent Fitzgerald and Huned Botee from San Franciso with a community-based texting service,

Megan Fox is a graduate student at DePaul University in Chicago. The South Sider, who has wanted to be a news reporter since she was ten, loves knowing the latest story and spreading the news. As a fan of sports and entertainment Megan always has good material for her blog and school newspaper. While earning her BA in Communication at St. Xavier University, she interned with WCPT Chicago in the promotions department, today she is working towards becoming a broadcast journalist.
