If you’re like me and grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, you will be stoked to hear that our favorite classroom television program ‘Reading Rainbow’ is set to return. Who doesn’t get nostalgic anytime they hear the theme song or see re-runs on PBS.
According to Engadget, Reading Rainbow is coming to a classroom near you via a newly previewed iPad App. Kids will be able to utilize this new app to follow up on their summer reading lists, play games, and follow up on Burton’s book updates. Burton is the brains behind the idea to bring Reading Rainbow to a new medium, and hopes to help a new generation love reading as much as ours did. Bringing this classic to the iPad will be an innovative step forward considering many school districts are already having children learn on this device.
There is no timetable on the app’s release, but I for one am glad that the next generation has a chance to experience this cultural phenomenon.
But you don’t have to take my word for it!
