Business Travel Woes
Traveling for business is still very prevalent regardless of how wireless industries have become across the board. For some, it is a hectic process they would rather not partake in, seeing as 92% of executives are fed up with business travel, whereas others simply enjoy exploring, meeting, networking and exposing their work elsewhere. Regardless of where a business traveler falls under the umbrella, each one has an opinion on the cities they visit. A group of 3,756 executives were surveyed on which cities they would prefer not to go to.
The only major US city to not make the top five is New York City, some of these other cities may want to consider taking a page out of their book. Houston, TX tops out the list. These respondents stated they would rather attend a virtual conference instead of having to go to these cities. It’s that bad, huh?
The rest of breakdown is as follows:
· Houston – 49.3%
· Los Angeles – 41.7%
· Orlando – 37.5%
· Miami – 33.3%
· Chicago – 27.8%
Along with this survey, which was conducted by ON24, the global leader in webcasting and virtual events. It was also found that Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson was ranked as the nation’s worst airport, followed by Washington D.C.’s Dulles and Los Angeles’ LAX. The executives were surveyed in November for VUE2011, the world’s largest virtual events user conference.
With all of the technological developments that are currently present and will continue to be developed, I don’t see business travel continuing at its current rate, which, to some executives, can be categorically excessive.
