Gamers Give Back

better world

Imagine a world of Facebook where people play games not just to have a farm, but to make the world a better place. A Better World, a Facebook game through ToonUps, is one that allows its players to be truly altruistic through activities and real world acts of kindness.

ToonUps does something to make worthless gaming on Facebook worthwhile—they believe in Cause Gaming™. They recently challenged their A Better World gamers to log over one million good deeds in under two months. These deeds allowed ToonUps to provide $10,000 to CURE.org. This amount will enable 10 children to undergo surgeries that will help them walk upright for the first time.

Since when are gamers philanthropists? If this is a sign of things to come, maybe it’s not such a bad way to spend a few hours.

You can follow the children who will be helped through http://cure.org/abetterworld.
