New Mobile App Helps Women and Youth Report Crimes
An app has been released for iPhone and Android that allows for citizens to report crimes by pressing a button. CrimePush.com is available for free in the iTunes store and the Android market. Details such as location, photos, video, audio and text description of the crime are sent to help first responders to the crime scene or emergency.
“CrimePush allows the more than 100 million smartphone users the opportunity to become the eyes and ears of authorities,” explained co-founder Eman Pahlevani.
In addition to reporting crimes to law enforcement, CrimePush.com can also:
- Alert family and friends of stalking, harassment or other threats by letting them know your exact location when a threat arises.
- Record and alert domestic violence, physical violence, verbal threats or intimidation.
- Serve as a personal security device when traveling through dark or unfamiliar neighborhoods.
- Alert medical responders to emergences like heart attack, stroke or accidents when no one is around.
- Alert bulling, physical altercations or vandalism to school authorities.
