I heard about Taskrabbit.com while watching one of my favorite shows on Bravo the other night, so I decided to check it out. The website is a safer, more reliable Craigslist in a way. Task Rabbit gets you in touch with friendly, reliable people who can help you get stuff done that you just don’t have time, or the patience, to get to.
Want a clean house, but don’t want to do it? Want your laundry done? Need help with carpentry around your house? You can find someone safe on Task Rabbit for an acceptable fee.
Let me tell you how it works. You post a task—posting is free. For example, maybe you need some house cleaning done, so you post it as a task. In the posting, describe your home and what needs to be done, where it is located, what you’d like done, and how much you are willing to pay for the task. Not sure how much to offer someone for this job? No worries—Task Rabbit will give you an estimate of what is normally paid for that type of job.
Once you post the task you’d like done, Task Rabbit takes over. They will review your task and make an offer naming how much they want to be paid. The website does add a few dollars to the offer for their fee but claims to still offer a great deal. Once you choose the person who you feel can perform what you need done, that Task Rabbit person will do the job. Each person is chosen for the site only after a criminal background check and a long application process, so it is safe. After the job is done, you pay online!
This is pretty cool. How many times are you just too lazy to do something simple like grocery shopping? What if you need to fix something in your home but you don’t know how?
