Harmon.ie Releases Survey Around “Unconventional Workspaces”
harmon.ie is a social software provider that makes collaboration easy by meeting workers where they already spend most of their workday--in email--and enabling them to access, edit and share document, communicate via chat and video with colleagues, get real-time document status updates and more.
For example, harmon.ie provides access to popular social and collaboration tools like Microsoft SharePoint and IBM Connections from the email client, iPads and iPhones, and the cloud. harmon.ie combines social and collaboration updates in a meaningful and contextual way. With harmon.ie, business users can follow updates wherever they are… at the office, on the road, or in the cloud.
§ 84 percent of mobile workers reported that they cannot work effectively on collaborative projects while on-the-go.
§ Of the executives surveyed, more than half (56 percent) admitted toproject delays or missed deadlines because of poor mobile collaboration, and 38 percent missed business opportunities altogether.
§ 56 percent of respondents admitted to writing, editing or reviewing a document while in a restaurant, 45 percent in bed and 14 percent in public restrooms.
harmon.ie’s survey, fielded by uSamp (United Sample) to more than 500 mobile business users nationwide, was specifically designed to help corporations identify pain points in and work toward solutions for on-the-go computing. In addition to showing that one in seven truly conducts business in public restrooms, harmon.ie’s survey found that technology gaps, specifically in enterprise collaboration tools, cause productivity losses and mistakes that are detrimental to business.
In addition, harmon.ie also launched app for iPad--the first-ever product to bring Microsoft® SharePoint® document collaboration and social interactions to the iPad. For the first time, business users can easily access SharePoint from both the iPad and desktop with the same user experience. Recent Forrester research shows that nearly 80 percent of U.S. enterprises already use SharePoint, fueling the demand for the improved on-the-go collaboration. Now, the one million existing harmon.ie desktop users and the mobile community worldwide can securely share documents, get real-time document and colleague status updates, and connect with colleagues anywhere, anytime.
In fact, mass adoption of harmon.ie for iPad is so widespread that a grassroots campaign recently launched to warn users of the dangers that can be had now that mobile users can access SharePoint 24-7 at home, work or play. To see footage of the mania first-hand, check out the campaign’s site: www.dontsharepointwhilewalking.com. For the full survey results, visit: www.harmon.ie/blog/06-13-2012.
