Halo 4. Election Day. Release Day. Additional Generic Search Term.

Halo-4-on-Conan

Welcome to the most important November on record. Newsflash: the world is in ruins. Warring factions are at odds. Salvation is in reach, but it is up to you to make it happen. And no, I am not talking about the 2012 Presidential Election.  I am talking about the release of Halo 4....which coincidentally coincides with election day here in the colonies.

If you are a hardcore gamer, you probably know November 6 only for the release of Halo 4. And the Republican party knows this. Statistically speaking, the vast majority of gamers would be considered liberal Democrats (their words, not mine). Could this be a ploy by Microsoft?

Obviously there are exception to the rules. Nonetheless, the Republicans are suspected of quietly anticipating the release of Halo 4, as it is expected that those who purchase the game will be too engrossed to leave their dwellings and throw their votes into circulation...votes that are anticipated to go toward Obama.

Hogwash.

Democrats are also silently anticipating the release of the game. Why? Because gamers are lazy. I can attest to that. I once almost failed out of college based purely on my dedication to beating every Mega Man game. It was close, but I beat them, and passed college!

Using this theory, gamers will be motivated to leave their homes on November 6 in order to pick up their copies of Halo. Not much is expected from the gaming community, but suffice it to say, if a small percentage of this population decides to "Since I am already dressed, and out, I guess I will just go vote", then Democrats can expect a slight bump in the polls.

This isn't to say that the Republicans have the upper hand. As I mentioned before, not much is expected of the gaming community (#Barret). So these votes are more or less just padding. The point is, never before has a video game had such a passive-aggressive influence on the polls.

I personally have Hal0 pre-ordered, and will be picking it up at 12:01 AM. I promptly plan on playing until 7am, then calling in sick to work, playing until 12pm, the sleeping until midnight. I won't have time to take a shower, let alone go vote. Besides, I think Clinton has this one in the bag.

TL;DR-Gamers probably won't be voting
