Bands.com: The Post-Myspace Home for Bands?

  • 0

Even though Justin Timberlake has a minority stake in Myspace, it's clear that the pioneering social media platform's best days are behind it: Hell, even Mr. Myspace himself, Tom Anderson, seems to enjoy updating his Google+ page more than visit his old stomping grounds. But many bands still base their web presence on their Myspace page because of its familiarity and former growth potential (the Brit band Arctic Monkeys, whom I'm immensely fond of, gained a ton of early fame through their Myspace page, although they would later say they had nothing to do with it. So what's a poor band to do in this scary post-Myspace era? (Sorry, Justin. Although I don't have too much sympathy for you since you hooked up with Mila Kunis.) Read More »

MySpace. It still exists. But I don't remember my username or password. Meh. Fortunately for those stuck in the 2003 time-warp, Justin Timberlake remembers his password. Last time he logged in, he threw all caution to the wind, and decided to just buy the damn thing. And now, he plans on fixing it! Read More »

Vigo the Carpathian: Alive and Kickin’

The Moldovian overload has been spotted, and guess what, things are going well for him. Despite preconceived notions that he was killed by means of being poisoned, stabbed, shot, hung, streched, disembowled, and then drawn and quartered, his mantra of “death is but a doorway; time is but a window – I’ll be back" reigns on. Five years ago if someone tried to explain Twitter to me I would probably laugh at them and say “I bet Myspace is better.” Twitter has come such a long way for such a simple website. And now not only are famous leaders and celebrities using Twitter, but business owners and workers are using it too. Twitter has become a tool in the business world. “Tweet This! Twitter for Business” by Jessica Miller Merrell is a book that reveals the truth about using Twitter in under 30 minutes a day. The concept for this book came to Jessica Miller Merrell while being on maternity leave.  Her goal was to create a unique and easy - to - read resource for small and mid size businesses. Today, you do not need to look very far to find information on the most simple twitter strategies.  The vital question Jessica Miller Merrell has for you: “Can a business owner spend only 30 minutes a day to tweet about their business?” Jessica Miller Merrell believes that business owners, recruiters, consultants and speakers can build and develop amazing relationships by using Twitter and providing organic - fresh content to the public via blogging. Ahh the communication of the future. The real story here is that to see the results in a social media campaign, a business owner must allow at least 6 months.  Jessica Miller Merrell does not want to disappoint her readers with the wildest expectations of growing a fast twitter following and experiencing business growth in less than 2 weeks. Getting followers is a lot harder than you would think. Instead of spreading the word about your company through word of mouth or networking, now you can spread the word by just clicking “Tweet”. Jessica Miller Merrell explains how to do just that and become successful. Check out her book “Tweet This! Twitter for Business”. Read More »
